Reimagining the 50s

Final design inspired by and for 1950s k

Alongside her fellow peers, Beth took part in a two-day take-over exhibition at St Fagans historical museum in Wales. She was given the opportunity to display her work within the actual museum being a part of its décor. Creating a large-scale digitally printed fabric, inspired by the 1955 kitchen and the terraced houses, Rhyd-y-Car. The design itself showcases observation drawings of objects found within the museum, combined digitally to create the repeating pattern. This was designed to fit in with the decor of the kitchen fully embracing the 50’s theme, using colours which were gathered from this specific location. The fabric piece was displayed and placed over the drying rack in the kitchen.
